Getting Started
Before you begin your training you will receive a comprehensive evaluation or your physical, nutritional and lifestyle status. Our staff will work closely with you to help you establish and reach your health & fitness goals. Whether you want to lose weight, improve strength and endurance, increase flexibility and mobility, our staff will customize a program that’s right for you.
“Before you can even think about the acute variable of exercise (reps, sets, load, tempo, etc) you need to know your client’s goals, what they’re current fitness level is, what physical limitations they may have, how much time they have available each week to achieve their training goals, and what space and equipment is available to them. Once you have these parts figured out, you can put all the other pieces of the puzzle together.” Brett Cohen
Fitness Assessment
- Obtain general and medical information about the client with the intention of designing a safe and effective exercise program.
- Identify and define the client’s health & fitness goals.
- Identify the physical, nutritional & lifestyle factors that may be preventing the client from reaching their goals and develop strategies to overcome those obstacles.

- Obtain accurate body fat analysis (when requested).
- Assess the client’s static and dynamic posture for the purpose of improving and correcting muscular balance. This ensures overall well-being and improves sports performance.
- Each client’s movement patterns are evaluated using Gray Cook’s Functional Movement Screen and a muscle length/tension assessment.
“Testing is the starting point for responsible training and coaching. Assessing can reveal movement dysfunction and deficiencies. It helps to clarity and prioritize training goals.” - Gray Cook, MSPT -Founder, Functional Movement Screen, Author or “Movement”
“If you’re not assessing, you’re guessing.” -Paul Chek, Holistic Health Practitioner, prominent expert in the field of holistic health and corrective and high-performance exercise, Author of “How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy!”
